Details

1. Backup the data from the source computer.

iconBackup the data on the source computer by using the Database Management screen. To open the Database Management screen click on the icon that looks like a filing cabinet or select the option from the Tools menu.

The Database Management screen lists all the Speed-Quote databases. Click on each database that you wish to transfer to the new computer to popup a menu of applicable options. Click on the “Save to File” option in order to save that database to a backup file.

“Save to File” will create a single compressed file containing all the database elements. By default, only the “Master Entry Sheet” product information is saved. Make sure to check ALL of the check boxes to save all of the information needed as in the picture below. We suggest that you do NOT enter a file password unless you will sending this information over the internet. Passwords cannot be recovered if forgotten.

Once the OK button is clicked you will be prompted for a filename. Select a location on your hard drive where you can easily find the file. Type a name for the compressed database file and click the Save button. After you have saved all the databases that you wish to transfer, copy the *.sqz files to the destination computer.

2. Restore the backup data to the destination computer.

Goto the Database Management screen on the destination computer (see step 2.) and select “Load Database→Load Speed-Quote Enterprise Database File”. Select one of the compressed database files (.sqz) that you saved in step 1 and click the Open button to restore the Database information and pictures.
