How to use SQZ Decompressor

SQZ Decompressor is a tool to decompress Speed-Quote Backup files (.sqz) when they are too large to load directly into Speed-Quote. These instructions will show you how to use the tool and copy the databases into Speed-Quote manually.

1. Download and unzip SQZ_Decompressor.exe sqzdecomp.zip

2. In the main window press the “Open” button and select the *.sqz file.

3. The list of files should be shown. Make sure that the “path” that you want to output the files is correct. You can change it directly in the text box or you can search for the path using the “…” button to the right of the text box.

4. Press the “Decompress” button. Once the decompression is complete there will two new folders at the “path” in the text box. They will be named the same as the SQZ file, but with a .SQ5 and .PC5 extension.

5. Open the Speed-Quote folder in Windows Finder. You can do this from the Start Menu by searching for “Open Speed-Quote Folder”

6. Move the .SQ5 folder into the “Databases” folder and the .PC5 folder into the “Pictures” folder. Restart Speed-Quote and you will see the new Database.
