In order to move Speed-Quote you need to follow these steps:

1. Install the software on the new computer.
2. Backup the data from the old computer.
3. Copy the appropriate files from the old computer to the new computer.
4. Restore the backup data to the new computer.
5. If you are moving a Speed-Quote Server you will need to:
   1. point any Client computers at the new server
   2. disable the old Speed-Quote Server software
6. Restart Speed-Quote

You will need to download the proper software from our website. If you are moving a Speed-Quote Server to the computer, download and install the Speed-Quote Server software. Otherwise download and install the Speed-Quote Client software.

Goto the Apptastic Website

Backup the data on the old computer by using the Database Management screen. To open the Database Management screen click on the icon that looks like a filing cabinet or select the option from the Tools menu.

The Database Management screen lists all the Speed-Quote databases. Click on each database that you wish to transfer to the new computer to popup a menu of applicable options. Click on the “Save to File” option in order to save that database to a backup file.

“Save to File” will create a single compressed file containing all the database elements. By default, only the “Master Entry Sheet” product information is saved. Make sure to check ALL of the check boxes to save all of the information needed as in the picture below. We suggest that you do NOT enter a file password unless you will sending this information over the internet. Passwords cannot be recovered if forgotten.

Once the OK button is clicked you will be prompted for a filename. Select a location on your hard drive where you can easily find the file. Type a name for the compressed database file and click the Save button.

The following files need to be moved from the old computer to the new computer. In order to open the root <SQEnterprise> folder, click on the “Start Button→Programs→Speed-Quote Enterprise→Open Speed-Quote Folder”.
